Japanese Soup Pot, 5" x 7" oil on canvas
I still have to finish up some things this evening, and hope to repost it tomorrow. Friday was my youngest daughter's birthday. Whenever it's someone's birthday in the family, we all get together and do something special, still sing happy birthday and have cake. Well Friday was her day, and not only that, but her husband had just won first place in Golf Open not far from us. So it was a day to celebrate! We went to a Japanese Hibachi resturant, where the food is so good! I love the atmosphere and love the culture. It just seems so special to set at a table, be given a warm wet towel to wash your hands, and to have all the courses set infront of you one at a time, and finally have the main course prepared by a hibachi chef who comes to your table and prepares it for you. I felt so spoiled! It was a wonderful evening. I wanted to take a picture of the chef to paint as a memento, but I could tell that it was making him uncomfortable, so I decided to just do a table setting instead. So that's the story behind this picture, hope you enjoy it.
